The story

DJ Hell (born Helmut Josef Geier on September 6, 1962) is a pioneering German electronic music artist, DJ, and producer. Active since 1978, he began his career in Bavaria, blending eclectic genres like New Wave, Punk, EBM, and Disco before becoming one of the prominent figures in the early German house and techno scenes.

Throughout the 1990s, he held prominent residencies at legendary clubs such as Tresor, E-Werk, and Babalu, and played a crucial role in shaping independent electronic music through his involvement with the record label Disko B. In 1996, he founded International Deejay Gigolos, a highly influential record label that heavily fueled the 1980s revival and played a foundational role in launching the electroclash subgenre. Renowned for his distinct cross-genre sets, collaborations with avant-garde fashion designers, and acclaimed studio albums like Teufelswerk and Zukunftsmusik, DJ Hell remains an iconic and enduring figure in global electronic dance music.
